Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox
With the 2010 Baseball season underway, the Tampa Bay
Ray's are off to a tear winning 30 games faster than any
other team in the majors. Of course, that can be
stopped with a trip to the stadium by the Qoncert crew.
The Red Sox took the first two of the series and
unfortunately Qoncert wasn't able to stop the bleeding
as the Red Sox decimated the Rays. Fortunately, the real
fun came earlier in the day when Qoncert set up a live
demo of the UCS B and C Series Servers with Nexus 5000
Chassis. The most challenging event yet, but
thanks to the Ray's for providing the advanced power
requirements and thanks to NetApp for bringing their
3040 Series SAN. Qoncert was able to set all of
this equipment up within 48 hours and show Unified
Communications 8 running on Cisco's new Unified
Computing System! Check out the photos!

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Carolina Hurricanes
On March 23rd we had
a great event, Cisco introduced their Unified
Communications 8.0 platform, the Lightning finally won a
game after a horrible losing streak, and
Qoncert
announced their new Hosted VoIP platform.
Steve Marcinek and Lou Rossi presented to an excited
crowd. Some of us thought they were excited about
UC 8.0 and Qoncert's Hosted VoIP but when we unleashed
them on the Frank Crum Club bartender we realized there
were more excited about the food and drink (engineers
eh?). Please click below to see what a great time
we had and be sure to check back to see when our next
event will be!

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York
Islanders
Well the Lightning
are looking good!!! If we can keep it up we will
be playoff bound which is great for Qoncert and Qoncert
Customers because Qoncert has a suite for every game of
the playoffs including the Stanley Cup Finals should we
get there so be sure to call your Qonert Representative
to get on the list! This event was a fun time for
all, after getting started a little late Phil Escarsega
of Cisco went over some details of the Nexus 7000
features before we headed up to the Frank Crum Suite for
some drinks, socializing, and an awesome win by the
Lightning. We were just too much for the boys from
Long Island and we blew them away!

December 9th,

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Edmonton
Oilers
Unfortunately our
beloved Lightning are continuing the streak of losing at
our events. Although they had a somewhat decent
start to the season, they have dropped off in the last
several weeks and after losing on December 7th 3-0 to
the hated Nationals, blew an opportunity to get a win
against a hapless Edmonton Oiler team. The game
was feisty with a half dozen full on fights, but the
Lightning went down 3-2. Of course, the real
excitement came before the game as Kat Walsh of Cisco
gave a sparkling presentation on Cisco's new Data Center
3.0 initiative. Covering the Nexus 7000, 5000,
4000, 2000, and 1000 boxes as well as Cisco's new
Unified Communications Servers proved to be much more
exciting than hockey game!

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles
THE STREAK IS BROKEN, after 5 straight losses at our
events, we finally pulled one off as the Ray's pull out
a squeaker 6-5. But the real fun came before the
game as Lou Rossi and Jamie Hill gave a presentation on
SIP and VoIP. Yes, it is true SIP and VoIP are
much more interesting than a baseball game! The
game was exciting with the Ray's hitting a three run
homer in the 7th to tie it up at 6 all, for a little
while we thought we were going to lose again. |

August 20th,
2009
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles
After a brief presentation on Virtualization in the Data Center, the Ray's came out flat
yielding an 8-4 lead to the visiting Orioles. However, late in the game, the bats
came alive and with a couple of nice home runs zinging right by us in the Checker's club,
they managed to cut the lead to 8-7. In the ninth, they managed to get a runner all
the way to third with two outs and then it was up to Evan Longoria, second in the American
League in RBIs. Unfortunately, he whiffed and alas, the Ray's lost 8-7.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Oakland A's
With the Ray's riding a 4 game win streak and Oakland sitting alone in the basement of
their division we all were expecting a great win for our home town Ray's.
Unfortunately, the pitching wasn't too good and Oakland jumped out to a 7-3 lead late in
the game. However, the Ray's had just enough fight in them to leave us all wishing
the game was10 innings and not 9 as we fell 7-6.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Washington Capitals
After a presentation on Cisco's Unified Communications by Steve Marcinek and a presentation
on Qoncert's Physical Access and Video Surveillance practice everyone was ready for some
fun. Unfortunately the Lightning didn't deliver as they played flat against the
Capitals and we were once again disappointed! At least the food and drink was
plentiful!!!

November 13th, 2008
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Detroit Red Wings
A great day of fun for all but those rooting for our beloved Lightning as they lose a
heartbreaker in the 3rd Period. Of course, we had a 3-1 Lead going into the final
minutes of the 2nd Period. At that point the officials had to get into the act and
called not one, but two penalties on the Lightning giving the Red Wings a 5 on 3 advantage
that propelled them into several goals at the end of the 2nd Period and beginning of the
3rd. From there they took over and finished us off! |
